01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Artà, on the charming C. de Ciutat street, Cafè Gran Via is much more than a simple coffee shop – it’s a genuine slice of Mallorcan daily life. This cozy and unpretentious café invites you to slow down and savor the flavors that define Mallorca’s culinary heritage.

Step inside, and you’ll immediately feel embraced by the authentic, warm atmosphere crafted by a friendly, local team who clearly cherish their community roots. The ambience here is casual yet heartfelt, reminiscent of a neighborly gathering rather than a polished tourist spot. It’s the perfect place to indulge in a leisurely breakfast, a light lunch, or a casual coffee break.

Breakfast at Cafè Gran Via is truly spectacular, as praised by regulars like Adolfo Gutiérrez del Val. Imagine biting into fresh, fluffy Mallorcan bread topped with ripe tomato, paired with quality ham and accompanied by robust, aromatic coffee. Every component—from the juicy tomato to the perfectly crusty pan—is crafted with care, delivering a simple yet deeply satisfying start to your day. This is the kind of meal that not only nourishes but connects you to Mallorca’s culinary soul.

The menu is thoughtfully composed to honor traditional flavors while catering to various needs. For example, the “pa amb oli” comes highly recommended, especially for an afternoon snack, and is adaptable to gluten-free options without compromising on presentation or taste, as shared by a delighted Manuel Molina. The commitment to accommodating dietary preferences without losing authenticity speaks volumes about the café’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality.

Service here is another highlight—quick, efficient, and friendly, as noted by XllO 26 and Jules Dany. Even if your Spanish isn’t perfect, the staff’s patience and basic English skills ensure you feel comfortable and valued. Pricing is also refreshingly fair, especially when compared to coastal tourist centers, making Cafè Gran Via a hidden gem for genuine Mallorcan cuisine without the inflated cost.

For travelers seeking an experience steeped in local culture rather than trendy décor or avant-garde dishes, Felix We’s review captures the essence perfectly: this is where you feel like a part of the Mallorcan community, sharing in authentic flavors and friendly conversation. It’s an ideal stop for those who want to see Mallorca through the eyes—and tastes—of locals.

Whether you’re craving a robust coffee with a side of traditional Mallorcan fare or simply a welcoming spot to rest and recharge, Cafè Gran Via on C. de Ciutat promises a heartfelt, flavorsome experience that will linger in your memory long after your visit.

Super coole Dudes, leckeres authentisches individuelle Essen. Einfach ne 10/10

Simple authentic bar, fast service. Locals visit as well. Can't recognise negative reviews. Paid 12.5€ for one water, one coffee, one ensaimada cake, and two ice creams from the board to the kids - reasonable priced.
